10 principles for Peace of Mind..

1. Do Not Interfere In Others' Business Unless Asked.
Most of us create our own problems by interfering too often in others' affairs. We do so because somehow we have convinced ourselves that our way is the best way, our logic is the perfect logic and those who do not conform to our thinking must be criticized and steered to the right direction, our direction. This thinking denies the existence of individuality and consequently the existence of God.. God has created each one of us in a unique way. No two human beings can think or act in exactly the same way. All men or women act the way they do because God within them prompts them that way. Mind your own business and you will keep your peace.


2. Forgive And Forget:

This is the most powerful aid to peace of mind. We often develop ill feelings inside our heart for the person who insults us or harms us. We nurture grievances. This in turn results in loss of sleep, development of stomach ulcers, and high blood pressure. This insult or injury was done once, but nourishing of grievance goes on forever by constantly remembering it. Get over this bad habit. Life is too short to waste in such trifles. Forgive,20Forget, and march on. Love flourishes in giving and forgiving.


3. Do Not Crave For Recognition:

This world is full of selfish people. They seldom praise anybody without selfish motives. They may praise you today because you are in power, but no sooner than you are powerless, they will forget your achievement and will start finding faults in you. Why do you wish to kill yours lf in striving for their recognition? Their recognition is not worth the aggravation. Do your duties ethically and sincerely.

4. Do Not Be Jealous:


We all have experienced how jealousy can disturb our peace of mind. You know that you work harder than your colleagues in the office, but sometimes they get promotions; you do not. You started a business several years ago, but you are not as successful as your neighbor whose business is only one year old. There are several examples like these in everyday life. Should you be jealous? No. Remember everybody's life is shaped by his/her destiny, which has now become his/her reality. If you are destined to be rich, nothing in the world can stop you. If you are not so destined, no one can help you either. Nothing will be gained by blaming others for your misfortune. Jealousy will not get you anywhere; it will only take away your peace of mind.

5. Change Yourself According To The Environment:

If you try to change the environment single-handedly, the chances are you will fail. Instead, change yourself to suit your environment. As you do this, even the environment, which has been unfriendly to you, will mysteriously change and seem congenial and harmonious.

6. Endure What Cannot Be Cured:

This is the best way to turn a disadvantage into an advantage. Every day we face numerous inconveniences, ailments, irritations, and accidents that are beyond our control... If we cannot control them or change them, we must learn to put up with these things. We must learn to endure them cheerfully. Believe in yourself and you will gain in terms of patience, inner strength and will power.

7. Do Not Bite Off More Than You Can Chew:

This maxim needs to be remembered constantly. We often tend to take more responsibilities than we are capable of carrying out. This is done to satisfy our ego. Know your limitations. . Why take on additional loads that may create more worries? You cannot gain peace of mind by expanding your external activities. Reduce your material engagements and spend time in prayer, introspection and meditation. This will reduce those thoughts in your mind that make you restless. Uncluttered mind will produce greater peace of mind.

8. Meditate Regularly:

Meditation calms the mind and gets rid of disturbing thoughts. This is the highest state of peace of mind. Try and experience it yourself. If you meditate earnestly for half an hour everyday, your mind will tend to become peaceful during the remaining twenty-three and half-hours. Your mind will not be easily disturbed as it was before. You would benefit by gradually increasing the period of daily meditation. You may think that this will interfere with your daily work. On the contrary, this will increase your efficiency and you will be able to produce better results in less time.


9. Never Leave The Mind Vacant:

An empty mind is the devil's workshop. All evil actions start in the vacant mind. Keep your mind occupied in something positive, something worthwhile . Actively follow a hobby. Do something that holds your interest. You must decide what you value more: money or peace of mind. Your hobby, like social work or religious work, may not always earn you more money, but you will have a sense of fulfillment and achievement. Even when you are resting physically, occupy yourself in healthy reading or mental chanting of God's name.

10. Do Not Procrastinate And Never Regret:

Do not waste time in protracted wondering " Should I or shouldn't I?" Days, weeks, months, and years may be wasted in that futile mental debating. You can never plan enough because you can never anticipate all future happenings. Value your time and do the things that need to be done. It does not matter if you fail the first time. You can learn from your mistakes and succeed the next time. Sitting back and worrying will lead to nothing. Learn from your mistakes, but do not brood over the past. DO NOT REGRET. Whatever happened was destined to happen only that way. Why cry over spilt milk?

HR would like to employ an employee who would like to expertise in his own field. This statement also creates a good image of the person been interviewed, in front of the HR. in a group situation. HR seeks people who are more productive with less supervision.

Before reaching the company for an interview a job seeker should always do some homework on what the company he/she will go for an interview.

I am flexible

Job candidates have a negative attitude when they go for a interviews. Over excitement, over confidence, nervousness are some of the major drawbacks of a candidate. The portfolios and a heavy resume is not enough to satisfy the HR who interviews. Interviews are always perceived by the job candidates as a nightmare but only a few know that it can also be enjoyable and informative. The more interviews you attend, more of exposure and knowledge you gain as confronting variety of questions and scenarios gives you more experience.

There are many do's and don'ts that are to be followed while answering to the HR in an interview but one silly or useless answer can sound offensive or lose their interest in hiring you. They hate to hear few things from the candidate. So all first timers make a note of these tips, that you should not speak to an HR in an interview.

Don't say "I am too strong to handle any situation"




This depicts that you are over confident and totally fake. Admit your weakness as you can further work on it and correct yourself. The Over confidence nature will portray you as a person who will be very easily influenced by your surroundings or other people and who cannot make self decisions. Weakness does work at times. Being too friendly to the employees and not getting involved in gossips are called as "positive weaknesses."

No Criticizing of former co worker or boss:



Criticizing your former boss in any way will leave a very wrong impression. The HR may conclude thinking you may do the same thing once you
leave their company too. Do not complain or detail all the problems you faced with your old colleague and why you left the old workplace. Make things crisp and short.

Mind your language:



If you are religious, racist, a chauvinist or a feminist keep it with you. Don't share it with anyone and especially not with the HR who is interviewing. The workplace
is always maintained in a balanced manner and people are treated equally. They want people caliber and will power to do things and succeed and promote any kind of racist activities.


Always have questions for the HR:



When the interview is at the verge of getting over the HR always asks if you have any doubts or questions to ask, don't ever say "No" thinking you are acti
ng too clear and grabbed all the things you wanted to know. HR may think you don't have must interest in the company and not a smart person. They expect a lot of inquisitiveness, as it shows how enthusiastic you are. Throw back at least two to three sensible questions which would change the whole impression even if you were a flop from the start of the interview. Research about the company before you attend the interview as it can be very helpful in asking questions.


HR is not interested in listening to your life story:



HR starts the interview by asking you to talk about what are you and some more briefings. It actually means he wants to know about your s
chooling, higher education, work experience, achievements and your hobbies. This is a weapon they use to check your communication skill and how expressive you are. Don't ever go beyond these for giving the answers. Don't give irrelevant details about yourself which is of no worth as this may bore the HR and assume that you too weak in interaction.

Stay away from Anger... It hurts ... Only You!!!

The Buddha explained how to handle insult and maintain compassion. One day Buddha was walking through a village. A very angry and rude young man came up and began insulting him. "You have no right teaching others, he shouted." You are as stupid as everyone else. You are nothing but a fake."

Buddha was not upset by these insults. Instead he asked the young man "Tell me, if you buy a gift for someone, and that person does not take it, to whom does the gift belong?"

The man was surprised to be asked such a strange question and answered, "It would belong to me, because I bought the gift."

The Buddha smiled and said, "That is correct. And it is exactly the same with your anger. If you become angry with me and I do not get insulted, then the anger falls back on you. You are then the only one who becomes unhappy, not me. All you have done is hurt yourself."

"If you want to stop hurting yourself, you must get rid of your anger and become loving instead. When you hate others, you yourself become unhappy. But when you love others, everyone is happy."

The young man listened closely to these wise words of the Buddha. "You are right, o Enlightened One, "he said. "Please teach me the path of love. I wish to become your follower."

The Buddha answered kindly, "Of course. I teach anyone who truly wants to learn. Come with me."

A voyaging ship was wrecked during a storm at sea and only two of the men on it were able to swim to a small, desert like island. The two survivors, not knowing what else to do, agree that they had no other recourse but to pray to God.


However, to find out whose prayer was more powerful, they agreed to divide the territory between them and stay on opposite sides of the island.

The first thing they prayed for was food. The next morning, the first man saw a fruit-bearing tree on his side of the land, and he was able to eat its fruit. The other man's parcel of land remained barren..

After a week, the first man was lonely and he decided to pray for a wife. The next day, there was a woman who swam to his side of the land. On the other side of the island, there was nothing.

Soon the first man prayed for a house, clothes, more food. The next day, like magic, all of these were given to him. However, the second man still had nothing.

Finally, the first man prayed for a ship, so that he and his wife could leave the island. In the morning, he found a ship docked at his side of the island.



The first man boarded the ship with his wife and decided to leave the second man on the island. He considered the other man unworthy to receive God's blessings, since none of his prayers had been answered.

As the ship was about to leave, the first man heard a voice from heaven booming, 'Why are you leaving your companion on the island?'

'My blessings are mine alone, since I was the one who prayed for them,' the first man answered. 'His prayers were all unanswered and so he does not deserve anything.'
'You are mistaken!' the voice rebuked him. 'He had only one prayer, which I answered. If not for that, you would not have received any of my blessings.'

'Tell me,' the first man asked the voice, 'what did he pray for that I should owe him anything?'

'He prayed that all your prayers be answered.'

For all we know, our blessings are not the fruits of our prayers alone , but those of another praying for us.

My prayer for you today is that all your prayers are answered. Be blessed.
